Learn More About Delinquent MMA

Delinquent MMA was created to prove a point. Graduating college during the pandemic made it extremely challenging to find opportunities in the combat sports world. When applying for jobs on the business side of MMA. Organizations such as Bellator, BT Sports, Sherdog, and a few more all told me I needed experience in the field. How do you expect me to gain experience if you don’t give me a shot?

I said fuck ’em and created my own experience. Hence “Delinquent MMA“.

As of November 2024, Delinquent MMA is a one-man show. I am creating the content on all social media, updating the website, and breaking down the tape solo. If you’d like to join me on this journey, email me.

About UFC Betting

Understanding the Odds

The first step to learning how to bet on MMA is understanding how to read MMA betting odds. Betting odds showcase how much a bettor can win. For example, +300 odds means that a bettor would have to place a $100 wager to receive a $300 profit if the bet was successful. -300 odds means that a bettor must place a $100 bet to receive a $33.33 profit if the bet hits.

When a fighter is listed with minus odds (example: -300), they are considered the favorite in the fight, while being listed with plus odds (example: +300) means they are considered the underdog.

Moneyline

The moneyline bet is a simple term to understand. The easiest way to understand it is if you are betting on the moneyline, you are betting on a fighter to win the fight. In MMA, there are three possible outcomes for a moneyline bet; your fighter wins, and you win the bet, your fighter loses and you lose the bet, or the fight is a draw and your bet is voided.

As an example, if the moneyline has McGregor at +175 and Poirier at -200. Based on this line Poirier is favoured to win. If you bet $100 on Poirier you would net $50. If you bet $100 on McGregor you would net $175.

Over/Under Rounds

Total rounds are over/under bets are based on the total number of rounds the fight will last before a winner is announced.

Let’s use the example of a fight that is set at 2.5 rounds:

  • If the fight lasts 1 or 2 rounds, the Under is the winning bet.
  • If the fight lasts 3 rounds or longer, the Over is the winning bet.

The .5 in an over/under bet would signal the halfway point in a round. In this example that would be 2 minutes and 30 seconds into the third round.

Winning Method

In MMA, one common betting technique is the winning method. This includes bets like winning by knockout, winning by decision, winning by submission, and others. If you pick a fighter to win by submission, that fighter must win the fight through submission for your wager to be successful. If you select a fighter to win by finish, they must win through knockout, submission, or DQ for your wager to be successful.

Props

Fight prop bets are a great option for bettors who are looking for more ways to earn higher plus money odds. These types of bets offer a range of options, including the fight to go the distance, time of finish, and more. For example, a “time of finish” prop bet allows bettors to predict when the fight will be won.

As a result, If a bettor selects a fight to be won between 00:01-01:59 of the 1st round, the fight must be won within that timeframe for the wager to be successful.

Parlays

Parlay bets are a thrilling type of bet that has the potential to pay out big. It involves placing a single bet on multiple outcomes. All the outcomes within the parlay must be accurately predicted for the bet to cash.

For instance, in MMA betting, a parlay bet could include choosing four different fighters on a UFC card to win their fights using a moneyline bet. The more outcomes combined in a parlay bet, the greater the potential payout. However, the outcome is much more risky.
