At 155 pounds, lightweight is the most crowded division the UFC runs, and it shows in how slowly the rankings move.

There are simply more good fighters stacked between any contender and the belt than there are at 205 or 265. Runs matter more than single performances here. A lightweight usually needs three or four wins over ranked opposition to get near a title shot, in a division where a heavyweight can arrive on one.
