Quillan Salkilld

Quillan Zane Salkilld is an Australian mixed martial artist who competes in the lightweight division of the UFC.

Born in Pinjarra, Western Australia, and raised partly in the Kimberley region town of Broome, Salkilld grew up playing Australian rules football and skateboarding before turning his attention to combat sports. He began training in mixed martial arts in 2018 and later relocated to Perth to pursue fighting full-time, joining Luistro Combat Academy under head coach Romel Luistro.

Salkilld holds a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and built an amateur record of 8 wins and 3 losses, competing at the 2019 GAMMA World Championships before turning professional. On the Australian regional circuit, he captured the Eternal MMA lightweight championship, a title he defended before earning a shot at the sport's biggest stage.

An orthodox fighter who blends aggressive striking with a well-rounded grappling base, Salkilld has described his own approach in the cage simply as "gangsta" — an attacking style built around forcing finishes rather than playing it safe over the distance. His camp at Luistro Combat Academy has emphasized versatility, pairing his jiu-jitsu foundation with dedicated wrestling and Muay Thai coaching.

Salkilld earned his spot on the UFC roster with a unanimous-decision win over Gauge Young on Dana White's Contender Series. He validated that opportunity in dramatic fashion at UFC 312, stopping Anshul Jubli by TKO in just 19 seconds to earn a Performance of the Night bonus in his promotional debut. He went on to add further highlight-reel finishes to his UFC resume, including a head-kick knockout of Nasrat Haqparast.

As one of the few UFC fighters to emerge from Western Australia's remote Kimberley region, Salkilld has become a source of pride for Broome and the broader Perth fight community, representing a pathway from regional Australia to the sport's premier promotion.
