Daria Zhelezniakova

Daria Zhelezniakova, known to fans as "Iron Lady," is a Russian mixed martial artist competing in the women's bantamweight division of the UFC. Born and raised in Saint Petersburg, Russia, she studied at the P.F. Lesgaft National State University of Physical Education, Sport and Health and briefly attended medical college before committing fully to a career in combat sports.

Her nickname comes directly from her surname, which translates to "iron" in Russian. Before turning to MMA, she competed for years as a professional boxer, traveling extensively for bouts, and also built a background in pankration, capturing a Pankration World Championship. She additionally earned a bronze medal at the European K-1 Championship, giving her a striking pedigree that predates her move into the cage.

Zhelezniakova transitioned to mixed martial arts in 2019, developing on the Russian and European regional circuit through promotions such as Sech Pro, Open Fighting Championship, and Ares Fighting Championship before drawing the UFC's attention. To sharpen her game for the world stage, she relocated from Saint Petersburg to Paris, France, joining the well-regarded MMA Factory gym, a camp known for developing high-level strikers and well-rounded mixed martial artists.

Inside the cage, Zhelezniakova's game is built around her striking base: a sharp, heavy jab, boxing footwork, and finishing instincts that have produced knockout and TKO wins throughout her career. She has also shown she can close the show on the mat, mixing in chokes when scrambles hit the canvas.
