The 2024 ADCC World Championship begins on August 17th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The biggest week in No Gi Jiu Jitsu history is here.
The Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC) is known as the most prestigious Brazilian Jiu Jitsu event in the world, which only happens every two years. The ADCC returns to crown new champions in five men’s weight classes, three women’s weight classes, and one men’s absolute weight class.

ADCC 2024 will feature five male divisions with 16 athletes each, as well as three female divisions with eight athletes each. Not just anyone can qualify for ADCC. Only the best of the best are invited based on two criteria.
How To Qualify For ADCC
A certain percentage of athletes in each division receive invitations based on their previous performances at ADCC, ADCC-affiliated events, or their established reputation as top grappling athletes.
The rest of the athletes must qualify through the challenging ADCC Trials process. ADCC organizes eight trial events globally. Giving participants from four different regions the opportunity to compete against the top submission grapplers in their respective categories.
The winner of each male division will qualify for ADCC. The winner in the female divisions in each region will qualify.

Gordon “The King” Ryan

Gordon Ryan is the greatest no gi Jiu Jitsu submission grappler of all time. He returns to the ADCC World Championship in 2024. Ryan’s ADCC championship journey began seven years ago when he clinched the -88KG World Championship.

Ryan is scheduled to fight in two ADCC super fights against Yuri Simoes and Felipe Pena. One will take place on August 17th, and another will take place on August 18th.

In 2018 Gordon Ryan lost against Vinny Magalhaes at ACBJJ 13. Ryan lost by points in the +95KG bracket. Since 2018, he has not lost in 55 matches.
