Lone’er Kavanagh

Lone'er Kavanagh is an English mixed martial artist who competes in the flyweight division of the UFC. Born and raised in London to an Irish father and Chinese mother, he began training in kickboxing at the age of eight and went on to become a five-time K-1 World Champion before transitioning to professional mixed martial arts.

Kavanagh built his early MMA career on the British regional scene, most notably competing on the Cage Warriors circuit, before earning a UFC contract through a first-round knockout of An Tuan Ho on Dana White's Contender Series. He holds a black belt in kickboxing and a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and he trains out of Great Britain Top Team in South East London alongside coaches Carlton Lieu, Ash Grimshaw and Brad Pickett. Away from the cage, he earned a degree in sports science and worked as a coach and personal trainer.

Kavanagh made his UFC debut in November 2024 with a decision win over Jose Ochoa, followed by another unanimous decision over Felipe dos Santos. The biggest win of his career came against former two-time flyweight champion Brandon Moreno, whom he outpointed via unanimous decision in a Mexico City main event, pulling off one of the more notable upsets in the division. He also suffered his first professional loss to Charles Johnson, who stopped him by knockout in Shanghai.

A sharp, technical striker with a kickboxing pedigree, Kavanagh is known for crisp boundary work, heavy hands and underrated grappling defense that lets him dictate where fights take place. Combining a five-time K-1 title haul with a UFC win over a former champion, he has established himself as one of the more accomplished strikers to emerge from the British flyweight scene, and a fighter capable of testing the division's elite.
