Brandon Moreno

Brandon Moreno Carrillo, known throughout the sport as "The Assassin Baby," is a Mexican mixed martial artist who competes in the flyweight division of the UFC.

Born and raised in Tijuana, Baja California, Moreno discovered martial arts as a teenager and built his foundation training kickboxing and Brazilian jiu-jitsu in his hometown before turning professional in 2011. He rose through Mexico's regional MMA scene and international promotions before signing with the UFC, developing his game for years out of Tijuana's Entram Gym.

A Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, Moreno has long been regarded as one of the flyweight division's most technically complete grapplers, complementing his ground game with sharp, high-volume striking honed over more than a decade of professional competition.

Inside the cage, Moreno is known for a well-rounded, high-output style that blends crisp boxing, physical wrestling exchanges, and a dangerous submission game, making him a threat everywhere the fight goes. His relentless pace and gritty, fan-friendly approach have made him a perennial highlight-reel performer.

Moreno's career is defined by his rivalry with Deiveson Figueiredo, with whom he shared a historic four-fight series for the UFC flyweight title — the first time in promotion history two fighters met four times. The series included a draw, a first submission win for Moreno to capture the title, a title loss in a rematch, and a fourth encounter in which Moreno reclaimed the belt, unifying the championship. Along the way, Moreno also won an interim flyweight title with a stoppage win over Kai Kara-France and recorded notable victories over contenders including Alexandre Pantoja
