Deiveson Figueiredo

Deiveson Figueiredo, nicknamed "Deus da Guerra" (God of War), is a Brazilian mixed martial artist who has competed in the flyweight and bantamweight divisions of the UFC.

Born in Soure, a small city on the island of Marajo in the Brazilian state of Para, Figueiredo grew up working as a buffalo herder alongside his father, who practiced luta marajoara, a regional folk wrestling style, and began wrestling himself as a child. After moving to Belem, he trained in capoeira before starting formal MMA training as a teenager under fellow UFC veteran Iuri Alcantara. He turned professional in 2012 and made his UFC debut in 2017, going on to train with Team Alpha Male, his own Team Figueiredo camp in Belem, and later Fight Ready alongside former two-division champion Henry Cejudo.

Figueiredo holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and won a regional Northeast Brazil BJJ championship, giving him a credentialed grappling pedigree to complement his wrestling background.

What distinguishes Figueiredo is unusual one-punch power for a flyweight, paired with genuine finishing instincts on the ground. He holds the UFC flyweight division record for knockdowns and is tied for the most finishes in divisional history, a style built on heavy hands and a willingness to hunt guillotines, armbars, and rear-naked chokes once an opponent is hurt.
