Career Overview
Montel Jackson
Montel "Quik" Jackson is an American mixed martial artist who competes in the bantamweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Full name Montel Samuel Jackson, he hails from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Jackson took up wrestling in high school before discovering Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu through open-mat sessions, a combination that shaped his transition into mixed martial arts. He built his amateur résumé to a reported 8-1 record and captured XFO amateur titles at featherweight and lightweight before turning professional. He earned his spot in the UFC after a stoppage win over Rico DiSciullo on Dana White's Contender Series. He has trained out of Milwaukee-area gyms, including Pura Vida BJJ & MMA, over the course of his career.
A brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Jackson pairs grappling craft with genuine one-punch knockout power, a combination that has made him one of the more feared strikers in the UFC
