Noche UFC at Sphere was a once in a life time spectacle, that delivered high level action inside the Octagon.
UFC 306 debuted in the new Las Vegas Sphere and lived up to all the pre-fight hype. It took full advantage of the Sphere’s state-of-the-art arena’s features and is known as Noche UFC to commemorate Mexican Independence Day. The event featured many of the promotion’s top Mexican fighters, except for the main event, which featured American champ Sean O’Malley against Georgian challenger Merab Dvalishvili in a bantamweight title fight.
On Saturday night at UFC 306, two titles changed hands. In the main event, Merab Dvalishvili ended Sean O’Malley’s reign at the top of the UFC bantamweight division. In the co-main event of Noche UFC, Valentina Shevchenko reclaimed the UFC women’s flyweight title from Alexa Grasso, who had ended her first title reign.
Dvalishvili and Shevchenko implemented the same game plan at UFC 306. They utilized takedowns and ground control to neutralize their opponents’ striking, executing the approach perfectly.
