With a weekend full of stacked fight cards ahead of us, RIZIN Landmark 8 seems to be going under the radar for many fans. The card takes place on Saturday, February 24th, the same day as the UFC Mexico and PFL VS Bellator. This has caused RIZIN’s card to go somewhat unnoticed by western MMA fans, but make no mistake, RIZIN always delivers quality cards and their unique ruleset makes every fight exciting.
Let’s review some details about their upcoming event, RIZIN LANDMARK 8. The fight card is as follows:

There are 14 fights total on the card taking place this Saturday, 4 of them being under Kickboxing rules while the other 10 are under MMA rules. RIZIN’s Kickboxing rule set allows all punches, kicks, knees, and elbows. Their MMA rule set allows certain moves that are typically not allowed in Western promotions, such as ground knees and soccer kicks.
The main event is an MMA Lightweight bout that features Luiz Gustavo (13-2) facing off against Yoshinori Horie (13-4). Both have had solid runs in RIZIN, with Gustavo being a former opponent of Patricky Pitbull. Also on the card are some other names familiar to RIZIN fans, such as Kazumasa Majima and Masakazu Imanari, who has an incredible 63 professional fights under his belt and is still fighting at the age of 48.
RIZIN doesn’t put on many events every year, but when they do they always deliver. The JMMA rule set is one of the most exciting in the sport right now. RIZIN LANDMARK 8 goes down this Saturday, February 24th, in Saga, Japan. Make sure to tune in.
