UFC 302 Betting Advice
Islam Makhachev (-450) vs. Dustin Poirier (+350)
All the stars seem to be aligning for Dustin Poirier’s retirement. The man who hasn’t been to a decision in his past six fights is deciding to bring his daughter for the first time. Plus, in a few recent interviews, he does not seem locked in. Saturday could be the last time we see Poirier.
Islam Makhachev will have Khabib Nurmagomedov in his corner, which is a massive X factor. If you’re a post-COVID UFC fan, Khabib submitted Poirier in the third round. The last time the great Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov implemented a fight strategy for his son.
Makhachev is a massive favorite, which creates phenomenal value on Poirier inside the distance (+525). Highly encourage you to sprinkle that prop bet.
However, Makhachev inside the distance (-235) is the best bet to place. Taking it a step further, Makhachev by submission (-125).
Bet: Islam Makhachev
Andre Lima (-240) vs. Mitch Raposo (+205)
Delinquent MMA is a New England base account, leading us to pay closer attention to the fighters out of this region. Mitch Raposo is a New England Cartel guy who was supposed to fight in this season of Dana White’s Contender Series. Instead, Andre Lima’s original opponents withdrew, and Raposo stepped up.
Raposo fought Jake Hadley on the contender series back in 2021. Since then, he is 4-0 in the regional scene. With that said, the guys he’s finished are nothing special, two of them were older than 38. Another doesn’t have his age listed anywhere.
Lima is violent. He’s a hungry technical striker who can mix up combinations extremely well. When the world saw Raposo on the DWCS 21, he only threw 1-2’s with no follow-up. Raposo shouldn’t have taken this opportunity to jump right into the big leagues when he had another DWCS shot lined up. Lima is a challenging opponent to gameplan for on short notice.
Bet: Andre Lima
