Main Card

Islam Makhachev vs. Ian Machado Garry

Official Result: Islam Makhachev (29-1) defeats Ian Machado Garry (17-2) via Unanimous Decision (49-46, 49-46, 48-47)

RECAP: Makhachev made history in Philadelphia, cementing a 17th consecutive UFC win to break Anderson Silva’s all-time record. The welterweight champion dominated the early going with relentless takedowns and clinch control, and while Garry dug in through the middle rounds, timing his kicks and body shots effectively enough to steal rounds three and four on two judges’ cards, Makhachev closed the fight in definitive fashion, securing back control with a body triangle in round five and riding out the clock. The final scores of 49-46, 49-46, and 48-47 were a fair reflection of a competitive main event in which the champion’s grappling ultimately proved too much for the challenger.

Mackenzie Dern vs. Gillian Robertson

Official Result: Mackenzie Dern (17-5) defeats Gillian Robertson (17-9) via Unanimous Decision (49-46, 49-46, 48-47)

RECAP: Dern put on a clinical display across five rounds to retain the strawweight title. The champion leaned on her elite jiu-jitsu and wrestling throughout, consistently putting Robertson on the mat and accumulating dominant ground control. Robertson found some success in the standup game and earned the fifth round on two of three judges’ cards, but Dern’s dominance through the first four frames proved insurmountable. The scores read 49-46, 49-46, and 48-47, and Dern retained her championship in authoritative fashion.

Jalin Turner vs. Kauê Fernandes

Official Result: Jalin Turner (16-9) defeats Kauê Fernandes (11-3) via KO (Punches) (Round 1, 0:39)

RECAP: Turner made a statement in under a minute. After Fernandes launched a spinning back fist, Turner caught him flush with a left hand that sent the Brazilian crashing to the canvas. He followed immediately with finishing strikes on the ground, and the referee waved it off at 0:39 of the opening round, one of the fastest finishes of the night. In his post-fight interview, “The Tarantula” called for a ranked opponent, saying he wanted to see a number next to his name again.

Mansur Abdul-Malik vs. Dustin Stoltzfus

Official Result: Dustin Stoltzfus (17-8) defeats Mansur Abdul-Malik (9-2-1) via Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) (Round 2, 4:25)

RECAP: Stoltzfus pulled off one of the night’s biggest upsets on home soil, snapping a two-fight losing streak in front of a Philadelphia crowd that roared him through every exchange. The Lancaster, Pennsylvania native took the fight to the mat early and often in the first round, landing multiple takedowns and threatening with a guillotine and a Suloev stretch from mount. He carried the momentum into round two, connecting with a sharp spinning elbow against the fence before dragging Abdul-Malik back to the ground. A guillotine attempt opened the door for a rear-naked choke, and Abdul-Malik tapped at 4:25 to seal the upset.

Edson Barboza vs. Esteban Ribovics

Official Result: Esteban Ribovics (14-3) defeats Edson Barboza (24-14) via TKO (Strikes) (Round 2, 1:32)

RECAP: A bittersweet night for Edson Barboza in what turned out to be the final fight of his legendary career. Ribovics controlled the first round before Barboza suffered a significant shin injury that robbed him of his mobility and striking threat. With Barboza unable to maintain his usual footwork in round two, Ribovics crowded him against the cage and unleashed heavy combinations until referee Herb Dean waved it off at 1:32. Barboza, 40, who had hinted at retirement in the lead-up to the fight, confirmed it afterward. A difficult goodbye for one of the most decorated lightweights in UFC history.

Prelims

Vicente Luque vs. Tresean Gore

Official Result: Tresean Gore (8-4) defeats Vicente Luque (24-13-1) via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

RECAP: Gore authored one of the night’s most remarkable performances, taking a flying knee from Luque that knocked multiple teeth out of his mouth, and then kept fighting. Luque controlled large stretches with his signature pressure and clinch work, but Gore refused to stop coming forward. The unheralded middleweight outlasted the veteran over 15 minutes and earned a wide decision, holding one of his teeth in hand at the final bell in a surreal image from Philadelphia.

Donte Johnson vs. Eric McConico

Official Result: Donte Johnson (9-0) defeats Eric McConico (11-5-1) via KO (Punches) (Round 1, 1:38)

RECAP: Johnson made a massive statement in his third UFC appearance. He caught McConico flush with a sharp left hand that sent the veteran crashing to the canvas. Johnson followed with a finishing strike before referee Blake Grice waved it off at 1:38 of round one. The undefeated middleweight prospect has now stopped all three of his UFC opponents and looks like a serious future contender.

Charles Johnson vs. Eduardo Chapolin

Official Result: Charles Johnson (20-9) defeats Eduardo Chapolin (15-3) via Submission (Scottish Twister) (Round 3, 1:36)

RECAP: Johnson delivered one of the most bizarre and memorable finishes of the year in what had been billed as a coming-out fight for the Brazilian prospect. After a grinding first two rounds, Johnson locked onto a Scottish Twister, only the second in UFC history, and wrenched Chapolin’s spine until the tap came at 1:36 of the third round. Johnson then paid emotional tribute to the late flyweight champion Allan Nascimento in his post-fight interview, bringing the Philadelphia crowd to tears.

Chidi Njokuani vs. Joel Álvarez

Official Result: Chidi Njokuani (25-12) defeats Joel Álvarez (23-4) via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

RECAP: Njokuani made his transition to welterweight look clean over a quality opponent, attacking Álvarez’s legs relentlessly throughout. The methodical kicking game drew boos from the Philadelphia crowd during slower stretches in rounds two and three, but it was effective, as Álvarez, making just his second welterweight appearance after years at lightweight, spent the final round moving tentatively on visibly worn legs. Njokuani controlled the pace and distance in all three frames, earning a convincing if unspectacular featured prelim decision.

Early Prelims

Jeremiah Wells vs. Myktybek Orolbai

Official Result: Jeremiah Wells (14-4-1) defeats Myktybek Orolbai (16-3-1) via Submission (Guillotine Choke) (Round 3, 1:24)

RECAP: Wells started the opening early prelim with fire, hurting Orolbai on the feet early in round one. The Kyrgyzstani fighter turned the tables over the next two rounds by out-grappling the Philly native and building a scorecards lead. With his back against the wall in round three, the 39-year-old Wells leapt onto a desperate guillotine choke and squeezed Orolbai unconscious in a stunning home-crowd comeback.

Neil Magny vs. Ramiz Brahimaj

Official Result: Neil Magny (32-14) defeats Ramiz Brahimaj (13-7) via TKO (Punches) (Round 2, 3:20)

RECAP: Brahimaj took control in round one with persistent pressure and a takedown, accumulating top control for most of the frame. The pattern repeated early in round two, but the veteran Magny reversed position and drove a devastating body shot into Brahimaj, who crumpled against the fence. Magny poured on 15 unanswered strikes before referee Jason Herzog stepped in to call it. The 39-year-old now sits second all-time in UFC wins with 25, passing another legend on the record books.

Rafael Tobias vs. Lucas Fernando

Official Result: Lucas Fernando (14-3) defeats Rafael Tobias (14-3) via TKO (Knee and Elbows) (Round 3, 1:10)

RECAP: Fernando set the tone from the opening bell, showing polished striking in his UFC debut. He hurt Tobias with a jab to close round two, then came out firing in the third, landing a crushing stepping knee to the body that dropped Tobias against the canvas. Fernando immediately swarmed with ground-and-pound elbows and the referee halted the contest 70 seconds into the round. Fernando made his point in convincing fashion on debut.
