Ciryl Gane (-180) vs Alexander Volkov (+150)
The main event will be much closer than the lines say. Ciryl Gane proved me very wrong in his last fight against Jairzinho Rozenstruik. Practically the reason for picking him against Alexander Volkov. Gane and Volkov are both technical strikers, however, Gane has a clear advantage on the ground.
Ciryl Gane is only 8-0 and his fight IQ is off the charts. For being a heavyweight he does not get hit as much as you would think. According to UFC stats, on average Gane gets hit 1.85 times per minute. Gane even holds a 2-inch reach advantage even though Volkov is the taller fighter. Gane’s grappling is going to give him the winning edge here. Taking Ciryl Gane in the main event.
Pick: Ciryl Gane (-180)
Nicolas Dalby (+125) vs Tim Means (-155)
Nicolas Dalby vs. Tim Means is a very interesting fight. Nicolas Dalby is on a five fight win streak and Tim Means is still taking names. Plus Tim Means is a UFC veteran, hard not to root for him. But the betting value of Nicolas Dalby is too good to pass on. Thought Dalby would have been the slight favorite here.
Nicolas Dalby was cut from the UFC back in 2016. After being cut, Dalby took some time off to improve his game, now he’s back. Tim Means is a great fight for Dalby to prove to himself that he belongs here.
Nicolas Dalby brings the x-factor of having something to prove. Being cut once and battling back to get on the roster takes grit. From a gambling perspective, Nicolas Dalby is an easy play.
Pick: Nicolas Dalby (+125)
Shavkat Rakhmonov (-265) vs Michel Prazeres (+215)
Shavkat Rakhmonov is a young undefeated killer, 13-0 all by finish. Shavkat holds a 10-inch reach advantage against the 39 year old Michel Prazeres. Michel Prazeres has not fought in a little over two years and has to face a dangerous prospect.
Once Shavkat Rakhmonov walked out with that electric hat in his debut, he instantly became one of my new favorite fighters. Honestly do not even know if you could call it a hat. Looks like something you could find in Davy Crockett’s closet. Check my Twitter if you do not know what I’m talking about.
Did not even care what these odds were. Taking Shavkat Rakhmonov even if he was -400. Love the play almost as much as I love the hat.
Pick: Shavkat Rakhmonov (-265)
Ike Villanueva (+175) vs Marcin Prachnio (-225)
Ike Villanueva is one of the best underdog plays for UFC Vegas 30. Marcin Prachnio is 1-3 since entering the UFC. All three losses coming by knockout in the first round. His one win was by unanimous decision.
Ike Villanueva is 1-2 in the UFC, however, his last fight was a knockout victory. When it comes to heavyweights who are battling for a spot in the UFC It’s hard to not the underdog. If you want even better odds, look to take Villanueva by first round knockout.
