Amanda Ribas

Amanda Limborço Alcântara Ribas, sometimes referred to in Brazilian media as "O Lindo Terror de Varginha" (The Beautiful Terror of Varginha), is a Brazilian mixed martial artist who has competed in the UFC’s women’s strawweight and flyweight divisions.

Born and raised in Varginha, Minas Gerais, Ribas grew up immersed in grappling. Her father, Marcelo Ribas, is a judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor who ran a gym in their hometown, and Amanda spent much of her childhood training alongside him before competing on Brazil’s national judo youth teams. A serious knee injury interrupted her early athletic path, but she returned to combat sports and eventually shifted her focus toward mixed martial arts, relocating to train with American Top Team in Florida.

Ribas holds black belt rank in both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and judo, a dual grappling pedigree that underpins her approach inside the cage. Early in her career she won the IMMAF World Championship in the women’s flyweight division, further establishing her amateur credentials before turning professional.

As a fighter, Ribas blends her judo and jiu-jitsu foundation with developed boxing and pressure-based striking, using footwork and jabs to set up combinations while remaining a constant threat to take the fight to the mat and finish with submissions.

She made her promotional debut by submitting Emily Whitmire via rear-naked choke, then followed with a unanimous decision over previously undefeated prospect Mackenzie Dern. She later added an armbar submission victory over Paige VanZant, results that helped establish her as one of the promotion’s most credentialed grapplers.

Ribas is recognized within the sport as a technically polished, well-rounded competitor whose judo and jiu-jitsu roots, family lineage in Brazilian martial arts, and disciplined climb through the strawweight and flyweight ranks reflect a career built on fundamentals as much as flash.
