Jack Della Maddalena

Giacomo "Jack" Della Maddalena, known to fans as "JDM," is an Australian mixed martial artist who competes in the welterweight division of the UFC.

Born and raised in Perth, Western Australia, Della Maddalena's athletic roots trace back to rugby, which he played through his school years. As a teenager, he began boxing training to sharpen his rugby conditioning and quickly fell for the sport itself, eventually trading the football field for full-time combat sports. He has trained throughout his career at Scrappy MMA in Perth under coach Ben Vickers.

Della Maddalena holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu awarded by Vickers, and built his early reputation on the Australian regional circuit, where he won and defended the Eternal MMA welterweight title before earning a UFC contract through a unanimous decision win on Dana White's Contender Series.

Inside the cage, Della Maddalena is known as a power boxer. His striking is built on a disciplined jab, sharp timing, and heavy hands developed through years of boxing-first training, giving him a game that leans on precision striking and finishing power rather than pure volume, complemented by a credible grappling and submission game.

After entering the UFC in 2022, Della Maddalena strung together a run of statement wins over ranked welterweight competition that established him as one of the division's most dangerous strikers. That run culminated at UFC 315, where he defeated Belal Muhammad
