Karol Rosa

Karol Rosa is a Brazilian mixed martial artist who competes in the women's bantamweight division of the UFC.

Born in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, Rosa began training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at age 13 after a cousin introduced her to a local gym, winning multiple international grappling titles as a teenager before shifting her focus to mixed martial arts at 17. She turned professional in 2012 and spent years fighting on the Brazilian regional circuit before signing with the UFC and making her promotional debut in 2019. Rosa came up through Vitória Combat Club and later Paraná Vale Tudo (PRVT) in Brazil, and has also prepared fight camps at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas alongside longtime teammate and former UFC champion Jessica Andrade.

Rosa holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a dark blue belt in Muay Thai, credentials built on a foundation of grappling championships won before she ever stepped into an MMA cage.

Inside the Octagon, Rosa is a well-rounded, high-output competitor who leans on volume striking, constant forward pressure and a punishing kicking game to break opponents down over the course of a fight. Her pace and durability have made her a difficult stylistic puzzle for contenders across the bantamweight division.

Among her notable UFC victories are decisions over former title challenger Bethe Correia and hard-hitting contender Pannie Kianzad. Her back-and-forth war with Irene Aldana at UFC 296 earned Fight of the Night honors and set a Guinness World Record for most leg kicks landed in a single UFC bout, a lasting testament to her relentless work rate.

A product of Brazil's deep grappling tradition, Rosa has established herself as one of the more tenured and respected Brazilian women competing on the global stage of the UFC, carrying her country's martial arts lineage into the bantamweight ranks.
