Kevin Vallejos

Kevin Axel Vallejos Montenegro, known to fight fans as "El Chino," is an Argentine mixed martial artist who competes in the featherweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Born and raised in Mar del Plata, Argentina, Vallejos built his early reputation on the South American regional circuit, developing his craft through the country's growing MMA scene before drawing wider international attention.

Vallejos rose through the ranks of Samurai Fight House, a leading South American promotion, where he won and defended championships across multiple weight classes. That regional success earned him an invitation to Dana White's Contender Series, the UFC's official platform for signing new talent. Vallejos lost his first Contender Series appearance by decision to fellow prospect Jean Silva, but returned in a later season and secured his UFC contract with a stoppage win.

Inside the cage, Vallejos is regarded as a sharp, technical striker. His approach centers on crisp footwork, feints, and precise combination punching, giving him the tools to control range and generate finishing power from a variety of angles.

He made his UFC debut with a first-round stoppage of Seungwoo Choi, an eye-catching finish that announced his arrival in the featherweight ranks. He later added a highlight-reel spinning back fist knockout of veteran contender Giga Chikadze, a finish regarded as one of the more memorable strikes in promotional history.

Vallejos is part of a wave of Argentine fighters who have helped raise the sport's profile in their home country, following in the footsteps of pioneers such as Santiago Ponzinibbio. He has spoken openly about the pride of representing Argentina on MMA's biggest stage, training out of Brothers of Life MMA in Buenos Aires while also working with coach Lucas "Mineiro" Martins in Brazil. Despite his rapid rise, Vallejos has maintained a reputation for humility and a steady, methodical approach to his craft.
