Sean O’Malley & Merab Dvalishvili will face each other at UFC 306, in what could be one of the biggest events in UFC history.
Many fans have been questioning the decision to have an event as big as this. On Mexican Independence Day two non-Mexican fighters headlining the show.

So in honor of all the Mexican fans. Let’s take a look at the three greatest fighters to come out of “The Land Of The Sun”

3. Alexa Grasso

Grasso is the only fighter on the list who’ll be fighting this weekend, she’ll be facing Valentina Shevchenko for the third time. Hoping to defend her title.  Alexa came into the UFC as an undefeated prospect fighting in the Straw-weight division. After a rough start decided to move up to Flyweight where she started ripping her way to the top. With notable wins over contenders like Maycee Barber & Viviane Araujo, before getting her title shot beating Shevchenko via Submission to win gold.

2. Brandon Moreno

The Assassin Baby gets the second place on this list, the former two-time UFC Flyweight Champion is probably one of the most loved Flyweights in the world. Taking part in a historical rivalry against another former champion, Brazil’s Deiveson Figueiredo, a rivalry containing 4 fights with Moreno getting the better of Figueiredo twice, drawing once, and losing once.

1. Cain Velasquez

The obvious number-one choice, the best Mexican fighter of all time. Cain Velasquez is the former UFC Heavyweight Champion renowned for his exceptional wrestling and striking skills. He achieved everything in MMA, including winning the UFC Heavyweight title twice and defending it successfully. He’s not only the greatest Mexican fighter of all time but also one of the greatest heavyweights in UFC history.

These are my top three Mexican fighters, and I can’t wait for UFC 306 at the sphere, don’t forget to watch the whole card, you might just watch a fighter who’ll get into this list in a few years. Tell me who’s the prospect you’re looking forward to watching the most here.

The long anticipated greatest sporting event of all time is taking place on September 14th, 2024. Sean O’Malley defends his title against Merab Dvalishvili, and Alex Grasso defends her title in a rematch against Valentina Shevchenko.
