MVP Reveals Loaded Full Fight Card – Rousey vs. Carano Netflix MMA Event

Netflix and Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) appear to be building an incredible card for their first venture into the world of MMA.

In February, the announcement was made that UFC Hall of Famer Ronda Rousey was coming out of retirement to meet fellow women’s MMA legend Gina Carano, live on Netflix at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, CA, on May 16.

The Rousey vs. Carano main card already featured two other high profile fights: former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou vs. Philipe Lins, and Nate Diaz vs. Mike Perry.

Today, the newly announced matchups are a heavyweight contest between former UFC champion Junior dos Santos vs. Karate Combat champion Robelis Despaigne, undefeated top flyweight Muhammad Mokaev vs. former ONE Championship titleholder Adriano Moraes, former Bellator welterweight champion Jason Jackson vs. longtime contender Lorenz Larkin, plus KSW lightweight champion Salahdine Parnasse and Karate Combat champion Aline Pereira, the sister of UFC superstar Alex Pereira.

The Full Netflix MMA Rousey vs. Carano fight card:

  • Women’s featherweight: Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano
  • Welterweight: Nate Diaz vs. Mike Perry
  • Heavyweight: Francis Ngannou vs. Philipe Lins
  • Heavyweight: Junior dos Santos vs. Robelis Despaigne
  • Flyweight: Muhammad Mokaev vs. Adriano Moraes
  • Lightweight: Salahdine Parnasse vs. Kenneth Cross
  • Welterweight: Lorenz Larkin vs. Jason Jackson
  • 130-pound catchweight: Aline Pereira vs. Jade Masson-Wong
  • Featherweight: David Mgoyan vs. Albert Morales
  • Welterweight: Namo Fazil vs. Jake Babian
  • 165-pound catchweight: Chris Avila vs. TBD

Netflix and MVP’s May 16 card marks the first stab into MMA for both Netflix and Paul’s promotional company.

UFC Hall of Famer Rousey recently kicked off promotion of the card with a noteworthy press conference, at which she lambasted the UFC as “one of the worst places to go” to “make a living and be paid fairly.”

“They’re bleeding talent because of their short-term greed,” Rousey said of the promotion that enshrined her into its Hall of Fame. “They’re thinking about the next quarter. They’re thinking about the shareholders and not thinking about their responsibility to be stewards of the future of the sport.”

Rousey vs. Carano Netflix Card Adds Ex-UFC & ONE Championship Stars

The Netflix MMA card will feature not one, but two former UFC heavyweight champions, as Junior dos Santos returns to MMA for the first time since 2022 to take on three-fight UFC veteran and current Karate Combat star Robelis Despaigne.

Despaigne was cut from the UFC after following an 18-second knockout in his debut with back-to-back losses to Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Austen Lane. While the Cuban’s own UFC career ended up being lackluster.

Fellow UFC veteran Muhammad Mokaev went 7-0 in the promotion before he was famously released following a win over Manel Kape at UFC 304.

Mokaev, who holds a 15-0 pro record following a stellar 23-0 amateur run, also won a one-off fight with Karate Combat and has picked up three MMA wins since leaving the UFC. Mokaev claimed the BRAVE CF flyweight belt in his most recent outing, and on May 16, he’ll face a huge test in Adriano Moraes, who was a multiple-time titleholder with ONE Championship.
