Check out the betting guide for UFC 297 ahead of Saturday’s ESPN event, which features Sean Strickland vs. Dricus Du Plessis in the Middleweight championship main event.
UFC Vegas 84 Recap: 2-0 to start off 2024. Jim Miller and Marcus McGhee dominated. Plus, we went 11 for 12 on our bets over at BetMMA, only missing on Tom Nolan. Buckle up because we are about to make dumb money in 2024.
UFC 297 features a main event of Sean Strickland vs. Dricus Du Plessis in the Middleweight Championship main event. Additionally, in the co-headliner, Raquel Pennington and Mayra Bueno Silva square off for the Vacant Bantamweight Belt.
According to the UFC 297 odd board, Sean Strickland is currently the favorite at -135 (bet $135 to win $100). On the other side, Dricus Du Plessis is the slight underdog at +115 (bet $100 to win $115). Implying an 57% win probability for Strickland.
Sean Strickland (-135) vs. Dricus Du Plessis (+115)
Cappers, Analysts, and Fight Guru’s seem to be writing off Du Plessis because of his unorthodox fighting approach. The same fighter who got a deviated septum repaired and knocked out Robert Whittaker. Du Plessis might not be the most elegant fighter to watch, but he wins.
Sean Strickland struggles against pure power punchers. Five fights ago, we witnessed Strickland get brutally knocked out by Alex Pereira. This makes Du Plessis a stylistically bad matchup.
Du Plessis hits like a truck, and he can take a shot. The best bet on UFC 297 is Dricus Du Plessis by KO/TKO (+250).
Bets: Dricus Du Plessis; Du Plessis by KO/TKO
Neil Magny (+260) vs. Mike Malott (-325)
Neil Magny is 36 years old. He’s been fighting in the UFC for over a decade. At this point in his career, the tape is out on him. Everyone knows his game plan. Less than 5 months ago, we saw Ian Garry rag doll him for 15 minutes.
Whereas, Mike Malott is 32 year old hungry prospect fighting in front of his countryman. Malott is excellent on the ground. When he gets space on the canvas, he is constantly attacking opponents necks for submissions.
If you are value hunting, I’d consider Malott by submission (+115). If not, confidently add Mike Malott to every parlay.
Bet: Neil Magny
