Jon Jones delivered another vintage performance in his second fight at heavyweight at UFC 309 in Madison Square Garden.
Jones landed a spinning back kick to the ribs, folding Stipe Miocic. Herb Dean stepped in to end the fight near the end of the third round. Jon Jones extended his unbeaten streak to 20 fights, capturing his 16th UFC title win, extending the record for the most in UFC history.
Miocic went on to announce his retirement following the defeat.
Charles Oliveria dominated Michael Chandler in the co-main event through four rounds. However, in the fifth round, Chandler came back to life, as he nearly pulled off an all-time comeback that had Oliveira on the verge. Needless to say, Oliveira survived and won via unanimous decision.
