UFC Champ Ilia Topuria Movie ‘Matador’

Ilia Topuria, world champion of the UFC, premiered his movie “Topuria: Matador” in theaters all over Spain.

Ilia Topuria is a Georgian and Spanish professional mixed martial artist. He currently competes in the Featherweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where he is the current UFC Featherweight Champion. As of September 21st, 2024, he is #4 in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings.

“Topuria: Matador” documents eight months of Topuria’s career. The documentary starts with his fight against Josh Emmett in Florida. This elevated him into the global top five of UFC’s fighter rankings and culminated with his title match against Volkanovski.

The documentary demonstrates the incredible training and personal sacrifices a fighter must endure. It was produced by a team that was given unprecedented access into Topuria’s personal and professional lives.

“There is a point when you become so concentrated on the training you forget about all the cameras around you, all the microphones, about everything,” Topuria explained during Wednesday’s presentation. “The good thing about this movie is that it’s exactly that. You’re gonna see Ilia Topuria without any filters. I hope everyone enjoys seeing that.”

“TOPURIA: MATADOR” is a film about the UFC World Champion that tells the most personal side of the fighter, making the viewer participate in his fight and sacrifice until he achieves his dreams.

Max Holloway challenges featherweight champion Ilia Topuria in the UFC 308 main event on Oct. 26 at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.

The official fight poster has been released for UFC 308. In the main event, Topuria puts his featherweight title on the line for the first time when he defends against “BMF” champion Max Holloway.
