UFC 278 was insane, had so many random thoughts on my mind I threw together a quick recap post. I planned on doing UFC recaps after each event, and probably have written a total of 2.
Horrible night gambling on 278 but made a killing on Dana White’s Contender Series. If I learned anything from those two events, it’s to prioritize underdog betting again. With that said, every single ounce of my MMA brain is saying to take Gane, but I’m betting on Tuivasa by TKO/KO (+650).
UFC Paris is a fun lineup, let’s dive into the betting guide.
Robert Whittaker (-215) vs. Marvin Vettori (+185)
Robert Whittaker vs Marvin Vettori is a great matchup, it’ll be entertaining to see who comes out on top. Sometimes like to take a guess on what the line will be before I look them up, got Whittakers right on the money. Guess this means we have to bet on him now.
Jokes aside, both of these guys have fought Israel Adesanya twice and lost. Whittaker has looked like the better opponent each time they have fought. When you compare the strength of the schedule these two have fought, it’s not even remotely close. Whittaker has been fighting the tougher opponents his entire career. Short and sweet, feel like Whittaker is the overall better fighter here.
Betting on Whittaker in this match up and honestly this line is a steal.

Charles Jourdain (-145) vs. Nathaniel Wood (+125)
On paper, Charles Jourdain vs Nathaniel Wood is an early contender for fight of the night. These two come to brawl each and every time.
Personally thought Charles Jourdain won his last fight against Shane Burgos. Burgos might have even thought to himself that he lost, which could be why he left the UFC. Jourdain has that dog in him, he was getting pieced up in that first round against Burgos then turned it on. No quit in Jourdain.
Love these two guys, it’s going to be a great fight. Honestly, a super risky fight to even bet on. Maybe it’s a little bit of recency bias but I’m taking Charles Jourdain by Sparta kick.
