Who is UFC Fighter Josh Hokit?

Josh Hokit and Curtis Blaydes meet on the UFC 327 main card Saturday, April 10th, 2026, at Kaseya Center in Miami.

UFC Heavyweight and former linebacker Josh Hokit has already made quite a name for himself outside of the octagon before his fight with Curtis “Razor” Blaydes at UFC 327 in Miami.

But who is Hokit? This UFC newcomer has quickly made a name for himself.

Who Is Josh Hokit?

Josh Hokit formerly played American football as a tight end and fullback in college football at Fresno State. The 49ers signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He was also a wrestler in college and earned All-America honors.

On August 18, 2022, Hokit signed with the Arizona Cardinals, but was waived five days later. Hokit’s NFL career was short live as he never officially played in a game.

MMA Career

In March of 2023, Hokit signed with Bellator MMA to start his MMA career.

After winning three fights under the Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA) banner, Hokit was booked to fight on season 9 of Dana White’s Contender Series on August 19, 2025. He faced Guilherme Uriel and won the fight via TKO in the second round, subsequently receiving a UFC contract.

Hokit faced promotional newcomer Max Gimenis on November 8, 2025, at UFC Fight Night 264. Hokit won the fight by technical knockout early in the first round. Which gave birth to the first post fight interview:

Hokit then faced Denzel Freeman on January 24, 2026, at UFC 324. He won the fight via technical knockout due to retirement in round one.

You might recall that at UFC 324, Josh Hokit went on a legendary post fight interview with Joe Rogan, where he called out Brittney Griner. Full post fight interview is below:

Hokit is scheduled to face Curtis Blaydes on April 11, 2026, at UFC 327.

UFC 327: Hokit vs Blaydes

Josh Hokit has made quite a name for himself during UFC 327 media week. He’s been blessing us with a handful of new “characters,” so you never truly know what you are going to get.

Hokit also decided to cut a few of his own promotional stunts that quickly took a turn at the UFC 317 press conference. Hokit went on an unhinged rant for about two minutes straight. Full video below.

Some fans are calling it one of the more cringeworthy gimmicks we’ve seen in recent UFC memory. Perhaps since “The King Of Cringe” himself, Henry Cejudo! UFC 327 is not as stacked as a typical Miami event, and Hokit is the star of the card. He has been generating more traction than anyone else on UFC 327.
