Delinquent MMA has you covered with the best bets, picks, and the full fight card for UFC 313: Alex Pereira vs Magomed Ankalaev, live on PPV March 8, from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
UFC 313, takes place on Saturday, March 8, from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV. In the main event, Alex Pereira looks to defend his UFC light heavyweight title for the fourth time when he meets Magomed Ankalaev.
The co-main event of the UFC 313 is a last-minute change. Rafael Fiziev steps in for the injured Dan Hooker to rematch Justin Gaethje. Fiziev fought Gaethje on the UFC 286: Edwards vs. Usman 3 card on March 18, 2023. Gaethje won by majority decision.
UFC 313 Main Event: Pereira vs. Ankalaev
Alex Pereira (12-2) dominated last year, he went on to win the 2024 World MMA Awards’ Fighter of the Year award.
Poatan’s first title defense took place against Jamahal Hill at UFC 300. Promoted as the biggest fight card in the history of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Pereira delivered an absolutely stunning performance. In just 3 minutes and 14 seconds, he defeated Hill with a left hook that sent him to the canvas. This fight was just the beginning of a historic year for the Brazilian champion.
On two weeks’ notice, Pereira stepped up to rematch the formidable Jiri Prochazka in the main event of UFC 303, after Conor McGregor withdrew from the event due to a toe injury.
His third and final fight of the year was against another powerful kickboxer, Khalil Rountree, at UFC 307. From the opening bell, the fight turned into a slugfest, ending in the fourth round when Rountree was unable to continue due to a brutal beating.
Achieving three victories in a year is impressive, but doing so in a championship setting is remarkable. Scoring knockouts in all three of those victories is truly astonishing.
Now, Alex Pereira faces his toughest challenge yet in Magomed Ankalaev.
Magomed Ankalaev (19-1-1-1) has been on the UFC roster since 2018. He experienced a setback in his debut, losing to Paul Craig by submission at 4:59 of the third round. Since that loss, Ankalaev has remained undefeated in his last 13 fights.
In December 2022, Ankalaev earned a title shot when he faced former UFC champion Jan Blachowicz for the vacant light heavyweight championship. However, the fight ended in a split draw, and neither fighter impressed the matchmakers. As a result, the UFC decided not to grant either man a second opportunity to compete for the title.
When the UFC opted to give UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira a fight against Khalil Rountree at UFC 307 and bypass Ankalaev, he felt snubbed by the promotion.
On Saturday at UFC 313, Ankalaev gets his long-awaited shot at Pereira.

Justin Gaethje vs Rafael Fiziev
Justin Gaethje opens as a (+110) underdog in the rematch against Rafael Fiziev (-130).
Gaethje was already in camp preparing for a war against Dan Hooker. Highly surprising to see ‘The Highlight’ open as an underdog against Rafael Fiziev, especially when he won the first fight. Below is the official UFC judge’s scorecard from the first bout.
Technically, statistically, or stylistically, it doesn’t seem or feel logical to break this fight down again. The main factor should be the odds. Being gifted the opportunity to bet on Justin Gaethje at plus money for a rematch he already won seems like a no-brainer.
The main concerning factor would be Gaethje’s health after the vicious KO at UFC 300. Assuming Gaethje is healthy, he is the best bet for the UFC 313 co-main event.
Bet: Justin Gaethje
Jalin Turner vs Ignacio Bahamondes
Jalin Turner opens as a slight (-105) underdog against Ignacio Bahamondes (-115).
Saturday will be the first time we see Turner since he thought he had a walk-off knockout over Renato Moicano at UFC 300. A huge X factor could be Turner’s mental state. Who knows if he made peace with this huge miscalculation or if it’s still haunting him?

At Lightweight, Turner always towers over his opponents. However, Ignacio Bahamondes is identical in height and reach, which is incredibly uncommon. If you combine the size similarity and the questionable mental state, Bahamondes is stacking up to be a phenomenal bet for UFC 313.
Bahamondes is a great pick. His striking is on the same level as Turner which makes him capable of hanging in the pocket and exchanging shots. We won’t see any grappling between the two of them.
