Gregory Rodrigues

Gregory Rodrigues, known to fans as "Robocop," is a Brazilian middleweight who has carved out a reputation as one of the most dangerous strikers in the UFC's 185-pound division.

Born in Porto Velho, Rondonia, and raised in Manaus, Rodrigues was introduced to combat sports as a young child, starting with capoeira before moving into Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He earned his black belt under Henrique Machado, the same coach who developed former UFC title challenger Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza, and also wrestled competitively for Brazil before turning his focus fully to MMA. After relocating to Rio de Janeiro to pursue a professional career, he fought his way up through the Brazilian regional scene and eventually settled with the Kill Cliff FC team in Florida, the camp that has anchored the majority of his UFC run.

Rodrigues arrives with a legitimate grappling pedigree, holding an IBJJF World Championship and multiple national Brazilian jiu-jitsu titles won prior to his transition to professional fighting. That credentialed ground game gives him a dimension many pure strikers lack, even though it is his hands that have defined his career.

Physically imposing and heavy-handed, Rodrigues built his name by hunting finishes rather than points, mixing violent combinations, elbows and head kicks with a chin that has repeatedly allowed him to absorb punishment and turn fights around. His bout with Julian Marquez stands as one of the division's most explosive finishes, while his comeback stoppage of Chidi Njokuani after absorbing heavy damage became one of the moments that defined his "Robocop" persona. He has also collected notable wins over established middleweight names including Roman Kopylov and Jack Hermansson
