The UFC returns to Miami on April 12, 2025, for UFC 314 Volkanovski vs Lopes. A featherweight matchup between Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes will headline UFC 314. The main event will crown the new UFC featherweight champion. We look at the best bets for UFC 314 Volkanovski vs Lopes.
In the co-main event, Michael Chandler faces off against Paddy Pimblett. UFC 314 is shaping up to be the best UFC PPV event since UFC 299, which also took place in Miami.

Alexander Volkanovski vs. Diego Lopes
Alexander Volkanovski is positioned as a (-140) favorite against Diego Lopes, a (+120) underdog.
Volk vs Lopes will be a highly competitive featherweight title fight. The UFC 314 main event is a challenging fight to predict. There are a few major factors to consider when betting on the UFC 314 main event.
Lopes starts round one and round two with ferocious velocity and aggression. He hunts for the kill from the opening seconds. Yet, once round three hits, that same energetic burst isn’t there.
Alexander Volkanovski is on a two-fight losing streak. The loss against Ilia Topuria came in round two, and the loss against Islam Makhachev came in round one. There’s a real possibility that Volk falls victim to an early-round Lopes knockout.
However, there is another possible outcome for the former UFC Featherweight champion. If Volkanovski can survive the early onslaught from Lopes, he should slowly start to take control. Volk has been training and preparing for five-round title fights against the best since 2019. Once the initial two-round burst subsides, Volk could come to life.
Perhaps the most critical piece of information to consider when betting on the UFC 314 main event is the age stat. The combined record of UFC fighters over the age of 35 in title fights below middleweight is (2-30).
Diego Lopes is 30 years old, and Alexander Volkanovski is 36 years old.
Even with that said, there seems to be a resurgence in Alexander Volkanovski. He’s been getting different looks in Thailand, training with Brad Riddell, Aljamain Sterling, and Craig Jones. Whereas Lopes has Austin Bashi mirroring Volkanovski for his camp. Bashi is 23 years old and doesn’t have a win in the UFC. I appologize for the stray shot Bashi, but the skill level of training partners is incomparable.
Volkanovski has fought the tougher opponents and been at the highest level for years. He got a real opportunity to reclaim his Featherweight title in Miami.
Bet: Alexander Volkanovski
Bryce Mitchell vs Jean Silva
Jean Silva is posing as a (-325) favorite against Bryce Mitchell, a (+260) underdog.
The image of Bryce Mitchell’s lifeless body spazzing out on the canvas after Josh Emmett sent him to the shadow realm lives rent-free in our heads. Now, Mitchell faces an equally powerful striker in Jean Silva.
Fighting Nerds Jean Silva is on a four-fight knockout winning streak. Two of them came in the first round. Silva specifically called out Bryce Mitchell after the absurd Hitler comments he made on his podcast. It feels like the stars are aligning and point to a round-one stoppage for Lord Silva.

Since the UFC 314 prop betting lines are not public yet. The best bet will be to take Silva, inside the distance, and for Silva to win in round one.
Bet: Jean Silva
Nikita Krylov vs Dominick Reyes
Nikita Krylov is posing as a (-200) favorite against Dominick Reyes, a (+165) underdog.
Krylov has been absent from the UFC for 2 years. The last time we saw ‘The Miner’, he steamrolled Ryan Spann in one round in March 2023. On the other hand, Dominick Reyes is on a new two-fight winning streak.
However, Reyes’s last win came against a damaged Anthony Smith. Even though he won in round two, Reyes did not look sharp. The recent resurgence of Dom Reyes has not sold me.
The two-year layoff from Krylov is weird, but he’s still in his prime at 32 years old. Reyes’s takedown defense is borderline non-existent. Envisioning Krylov pressuring early for a takedown and finding the submission. Once the prob bets are public, bet on Nikita Krylov to win inside the distance.
Bet: Nikita Krylov
Dan Ige vs Sean Woodson
Sean Woodson sits as a (-160) favorite over Dan Ige, a (+135) underdog.
When the betting lines for Woodson vs Ige originally opened in March, Ige was the favorite at (-165). The recent line movement completely flipped the odds around. There is no other explanation for the flip besides recency bias.
Sean Woodson is (7-1-1) in the UFC and on a four-fight win streak. Most recently, he knocked out Fernando Padilla in one round. Meanwhile, Dan Ige is on a two-fight losing streak with losses against Lerone Murphy and Diego Lopes.
The strength in opposing schedules is incomparable. Ige has fought some of the best Featherweights on the planet. Not to mention, he’s never been finished as a professional fighter. Ige is only 33 years old, which means he still carries insane power. There’s a chance Ige catches Woodson’s chin and puts him to sleep.
’50k’ is one of the most durable fighters on the UFC roster. Combine that with his cardio, power, and strength of schedule advantage. Dan Ige’s money line is a phenomenal opportunity to bet on a favorite who flipped to an underdog.
Bet: Dan Ige
Tresean Gore vs Marco Tulio
Marco Tulio Silva is posing as a (-305) favorite against Tresean Gore, a (+250) underdog.
Tresean Gore holds a professional MMA record of (5-2). He’s currently on a two-fight win streak, defeating Josh Fremd and Antonio Trócoli. Fun fact about Fremd and Trócoli, they aren’t on the UFC roster anymore. Gore does not have a win over any active UFC fighter.
Meanwhile, Marco Tulio holds a record of (13-1). He came up on the Contender Series, competing in the 2023 season, winning via unanimous decision. Tulio did not earn a contract, so he fought again in the 2024 season, where he won via a spinning back kick to ground and pound. As a result, Trulio earned himself a UFC contract.

In January 2025, Trulio debuted against Ihor Potieria and won in one round. Not to mention, he dates Norma Dumont. That X factor should count for something.
The matchmakers could be trying to build Tulio into a star. He’s got the stage set to earn another highlight stoppage against Gore. The plan is to bet on Tulio to win inside the distance.
Bet: Marco Tulio
