Dan Ige

Daniel Alexander Ige, known professionally as Dan Ige, is an American mixed martial artist of Hawaiian and Nigerian descent who competes in the featherweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Born and raised in Haleiwa on the island of Oahu, Ige grew up in a working-class Hawaiian community before heading to the mainland to wrestle at Wartburg College in Iowa, an NCAA Division III wrestling powerhouse. It was during his college years that he first tried mixed martial arts, and a quick knockout in one of his earliest amateur outings convinced him to pursue the sport full time. He turned professional in 2014, cutting his teeth on regional promotions such as Legacy Fighting Championship, Titan FC, RFA and Pancrase before earning a spot on the UFC roster in 2017.

Ige holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a brown belt in Judo, credentials that complement the folkstyle wrestling base he built in college. He trains out of Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas under head coach Eric Nicksick, sharing the gym with a roster of accomplished UFC competitors.

Inside the cage, Ige is known as a durable, well-rounded pressure fighter who blends wrestling, power boxing and a granite chin, having never been finished as a professional. He has earned multiple UFC "Performance of the Night" bonuses, including a first-round submission finish and a 22-second knockout of Gavin Tucker, and delivered a memorable walk-off knockout of Damon Jackson. He also strung together a six-fight winning streak that carried him into the featherweight top 15, and picked up a notable decision win over Nate Landwehr.
