Ketlen Vieira

Ketlen Vieira, known by the nickname "Fenômeno" (Portuguese for "Phenomenon"), is a Brazilian mixed martial artist who competes in the women's bantamweight division of the UFC.

Born and raised in Manaus, in the Amazonas region of Brazil, Vieira came up through grappling before ever stepping into a cage. She trained in judo from a young age and became a decorated wrestling competitor in Brazilian national competition, building a base of positional control and takedown ability that would later define her mixed martial arts career. She once studied law at a university in Manaus before leaving school to pursue fighting full time, turning professional in 2014. Vieira trains out of the Nova União camp in Manaus, one of Brazil's most storied MMA teams, under the guidance of coach André Pederneiras.

Vieira holds black belts in both judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, credentials that underpin a grappling-centric approach built around takedowns, top control, and relentless positional pressure. That wrestling and judo pedigree has made her one of the most difficult bantamweights in the world to keep off the mat, and she has developed a reputation as one of the toughest takedown defenders in the division as well, frequently stuffing opponents' attempts while landing her own.

Since joining the UFC in 2016, Vieira has built a resume against some of the sport's most recognizable names. She submitted former title challenger Sara McMann via arm-triangle choke, outpointed boxing-crossover star Holly Holm in a closely contested decision, and earned a unanimous decision over former champion Miesha Tate. She has also recorded decision victories over Pannie Kianzad and Ashlee Evans-Smith, results that established her as a consistent threat among the division's top contenders.

Representing the Nova União lineage and the Manaus fight scene, Vieira is regarded as one of Brazilian women's MMA's premier grapplers, a fighter whose amateur wrestling and judo foundation set her apart in a division increasingly defined by well-rounded skill.
