Erin Blanchfield

Erin "Cold Blooded" Blanchfield is an American mixed martial artist from Elmwood Park, New Jersey, who competes in the women's flyweight division of the UFC.

Blanchfield began training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and grappling as a child, later adding kickboxing and Muay Thai. She trained at a Tiger Schulmann-affiliated gym before moving to Silver Fox BJJ in Saddle Brook, New Jersey, a Renzo Gracie Academy affiliate, and to the Renzo Gracie Academy in Manhattan, where she worked with acclaimed grappling coach John Danaher. She also developed her striking under Kru Augie Matias at MK Muay Thai in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. Blanchfield signed with Invicta Fighting Championships early in her career before advancing to the UFC.

Her grappling credentials are extensive: at 18, competing as a purple belt, she won the Eddie Bravo Invitational flyweight tournament, becoming the youngest champion in the event's history. She has since been awarded a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu by her longtime coach, Karel "Silver Fox" Pravec.

Blanchfield is regarded as one of the premier grapplers in women's MMA, built around elite wrestling and top-position control that sets up a dangerous submission arsenal, including guillotines, kimuras, and rear-naked chokes. She also mixes in sharp striking, favoring head kicks to complement her ground game, giving her a well-rounded, methodical approach that has proven difficult for opponents to solve.

Inside the Octagon, Blanchfield has built a resume that includes wins over former champion Rose Namajunas, former champion Jéssica Andrade, Molly McCann, and Tracy Cortez, the latter by submission in a rematch.

A former Television and Digital Media student at Montclair State University with an eye toward sports broadcasting, Blanchfield has positioned herself as a standard-bearer for the next generation of women's flyweight competition, pairing world-class grappling pedigree with the poise of a fighter who has trained for the sport since childhood.
