Karine Silva

Karine Silva de Almeida, known by the nickname "Killer," is a Brazilian mixed martial artist who competes in the women's flyweight division of the UFC. Born in Dourados, Mato Grosso do Sul, Silva turned professional in 2013, leaving school and prior work behind to train full time, and eventually relocated to Curitiba, Paraná, to build her career under coach Gile Ribeiro.

Before dedicating herself to MMA, Silva trained in Chinese kickboxing (sanda), luta livre, wrestling, and muay Thai, layering those disciplines onto a grappling foundation that has become the hallmark of her game. She holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Ribeiro's instruction and has trained alongside Brazilian standouts such as Rogério Bontorin before later joining the Fighting Nerds team.

Silva earned her UFC contract with a finish on Dana White's Contender Series and has built her reputation in the Octagon as one of the division's most dangerous finishers. Her submission game is elite even by UFC standards — she is tied for third-most submission victories in UFC women's flyweight history — and she pairs that grappling with heavy hands and first-round finishing instincts, having closed out several fights before the opening round expired.

Among her signature UFC performances, Silva submitted Poliana Botelho with a first-round D'arce choke to earn a Performance of the Night bonus, finished Ketlen Souza via a first-round kneebar, and avenged an amateur-days loss by submitting Maryna Moroz with a guillotine choke. She has also posted decision victories over Ariane Lipski
