Dominick Reyes

Dominick Reyes, known as "The Devastator," is an American professional mixed martial artist who competes in the light heavyweight division of the UFC.

Reyes grew up in California's High Desert region and became a standout football player before attending Stony Brook University, where he studied Information Systems and served as a team captain and starting safety for the school's football program. After going undrafted and a brief look from Canadian football, he returned home and worked construction and technical support jobs while searching for his next competitive outlet, eventually discovering mixed martial arts and beginning his training under his brother at a local gym in Victorville.

Reyes holds a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, with a particular fondness for the D'Arce choke, and built his amateur and early professional resume around that grappling instruction combined with a rangy, kickboxing-based striking approach. His nickname reflects the power and length he generates from a southpaw stance and a significant height and reach advantage over most light heavyweight opposition.

Stylistically, Reyes is known as a distance striker who leans on a heavy jab, sharp kicks, and craters power to keep opponents at range, while using his wrestling and grappling background to control the fight when needed.
