Marcin Tybura

Marcin "Tybur" Tybura is a Polish professional mixed martial artist who competes in the heavyweight division of the UFC.

Born in Uniejów, Poland, Tybura first stepped onto the mat as a teenager training in judo before discovering mixed martial arts. He turned professional in 2011 after building a foundation on the Polish regional circuit, and went on to train with several respected camps over the course of his career, including a stint with New Mexico's Jackson-Wink MMA, as well as Syndicate MMA and Ankos MMA. Away from competition, he earned a master's degree in physical education from the University of Łódź.

Tybura holds a black belt in judo from his formative years and later added a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, awarded under coaches Kamil Umiński and Radek Turk. That grappling pedigree underpins his approach inside the cage: a heavyweight who wins fights through pressure, control, and persistence rather than one-punch power. He is best known for a smothering top game, using takedowns along the fence to pin opponents down, pass guard, and grind out rounds with heavy ground-and-pound, while also owning a genuine finishing instinct on the mat, having collected multiple submission wins via rear-naked and north-south chokes.

Before arriving in the UFC, Tybura built his résumé with the Russia-based M-1 Global promotion, where he won the 2013 Heavyweight Grand Prix and captured the promotion's heavyweight championship. Since joining the UFC roster in 2016, he has become one of the promotion's most durable heavyweights, picking up four Performance of the Night bonuses for statement wins over Andrei Arlovski, Greg Hardy, Walt Harris, and Tai Tuivasa
