Serghei Spivac

Serghei Spivac, known to fans as "Polar Bear," is a Moldovan mixed martial artist who competes in the Heavyweight division of the UFC.

Born in Chișinău, Moldova, Spivac turned professional in 2014, cutting his teeth on the regional Eastern European circuit with promotions such as Real Fight Promotion, N1 Pro, Eagles Fighting Championship, and World Warriors Fighting Championship (WWFC). He built an unbeaten start to his career and captured the WWFC Heavyweight Championship, successfully defending the belt twice before signing with the UFC.

Spivac's game is built around a heavy grappling pedigree. His takedown arsenal draws on a judo-influenced base, mixing double-legs, single-legs, body locks, and trips, often chained together reactively off exchanges on the feet. Once the fight hits the mat, he is known for smothering top control and heavy ground-and-pound, using punches and elbows to open opponents up before hunting for the finish. His submission game is one of the most polished in the heavyweight ranks, built around arm-triangle chokes, armbars, kimuras, and rear-naked chokes, backed by what opponents have described as a crushing squeeze.
