Mayra Bueno Silva
Mayra Bueno Silva, known by the nickname "Sheetara," is a Brazilian mixed martial artist who has competed in the women's bantamweight division of the UFC.
Born in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Bueno Silva relocated to train in Campinas and São Paulo before turning professional in 2016. She built her early record on Brazil's regional circuit, capturing the Batalha MMA bantamweight championship, before earning a UFC contract with a first-round submission win on Dana White's Contender Series in 2018.
A brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Bueno Silva built her career around a technical, opportunistic ground game, finishing the majority of her professional wins by submission. Training out of American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida, she developed a reputation as one of the bantamweight division's most inventive leglock threats. Her kneebar became something of a signature, most memorably used to finish Lina Länsberg for a Performance of the Night bonus.
Bueno Silva's grappling has repeatedly produced highlight-reel moments inside the UFC Octagon, from a first-round submission of Gillian Robertson in her promotional debut to an armbar finish of Stephanie Egger. That run of performances carried her to a shot at the vacant UFC women's bantamweight championship opposite Raquel Pennington
